Looking back

Now that I have come the end of my second year at uni, and the time to pack up the house and head home for the summer has come, I have found myself looking back at the last two years.  Since leaving school and taking my first few steps in to the real world, plenty has changed.  Two birthdays have passed (with two yummy cakes), making me a grand total of 20 years old, though when people ask I automatically want to tell them that I am still only 18!

First year seemed to fly by in a blur of vodka jelly, shots, fancy dress, meeting new people, the dreaded revision at the end of the year and of course packing.  Although going to uni meant moving to Nottingham, away from family and old friends it has to be the best thing I have done so far in my life.  It didn't take me long to fall for the city, the uni life style and Nottingham prices!  And being away from home for months at a time really makes me appreciate those lovely weekends spent at home, with the momma bear and catching up with friends.

I thought that first year went fast, but then second year passed at lightening speed!  This time in a blur of work, (attempted) pole dancing, vodka jelly, shots, fancy dress, meeting new people, the dreaded revision at the end of the year and of course packing.  I cant believe that there is only one year left, I think that the one piece of advice I would give to anyone about to go to uni is to savour every moment, as it passes quicker then you might think!

If you go to uni, what would be your piece of advice?

  1. My piece of advice would be to take LOADS of photos! Not only of nights out but also of your uni buildings, your favourite bits of the city and, of course, the library! Then pop them all in a big ol' scrap book so you have a book of memories at the end! :) xxx

  2. oh my gosh, i finished up my second year of college as well! (in may, of course. it's my understanding that you guys pack up really late over there in the UK!)
my piece of advice: be friendly. there are SO many new people you've never met before, and it's a great opportunity to meet all sorts of new people :)
